Tuning Your Instrument
In this absolute beginner's tuning class we'll cover: Pitch, the musical alphabet, and how this relates to string instruments. The various tools you can use to help you tune. The different methods of tuning - how fine tuners and pegs work. Here there will be a practical element where you will tune your own instrument using the fine tuners, and, if you feel comfortable we can guide you through how to tune using the pegs.
Changing Strings Tuning Your Instrument
In this class on string changing, and advanced tuning we'll cover: How to remove a string and how/when to apply peg paste and graphite. How to wind on a new string correctly and what to be aware of when changing a full set of strings. How to tune your instrument, with a stronger emphasis on using the pegs and how to straighten a bridge if it begins to tilt.
This class is recommended for players 12 and over as more peg tuning is required. For players under 12, we recommend a parent also attends (please book 2 tickets if you are attending with your child). |
